Yahoo! Answers: what to do with kids' artwork from school?

Thank author of this post/commentMy daughter is in kindergarten and my son is in preschool, they bring home various art papers and writing pages. We have kept all of our daughter's artwork since she was 3. and our son's since he was 18 months old, but now the storage box we have them in is overfilling. now what do we do with them?

Yes, taking the papers' picture is really a good idea. After that, you could freely throw away all those papers. On the other hand, if you really want to preserve those artworks, you can just make a scrapbook for them so that when they grow big, they will have a very nice remembrance of their childhood years. In fact, they will appreciate it more most especially your effort of putting them together. Just have to choose the best works.

It's a good idea to take picture of your kids' artwork so you can preserve them. But if you really want to preserve the actual artworks, you can either put them in a scrapbook or have some sort of an art gallery at home where you can place these artworks so you can see their progress.

When they grow up and see that art gallery, your kids would remember that you have always been proud of them.

I myself love to collect artwork. My mom has started to collect different artwork of mine since I was a kid. I am used to it so until now, though I am already an adult, I still collect my own works of art. I love painting actually. I experienced the same thing before. But, to expand my storage I personally asked my mom to build a bigger storage for my artwork.

I can still remember the very first day my son gave me his first drawing, it was wonderful. Seeing that stick man with a flower in its hand and different colors behind it, I really got mixed emotions. From that day on, I started collecting his drawings and kept it in an album and I even framed some of it. My friends even loved looking at it when they visit the house.

What you should is take everything to Kinkos and have them lamenate the works. That way you can preserve the pieces infinitely as well as flatten them to the smalles possible size. Twenty years from now you'll be glad you did it!
